Meenakshi sent me the youtube link of a bengali song earlier today - "ami chini go chini" ... a very good bengali song indeed, I remember my mother used to sing this when I was young ... and yesterday they sang that in Maison de l'Inde (Saraswati Pooja) ...
I was thinking where this could be put, I was a bit confused with this, I really wanted to put this somewhere, but didn't know where I can do that. I didn't want to put this song in the midst of Hindi songs as I wanted to keep regional languages apart from the national language section.
Here came the idea of creating a new regional language based section ... I thought, just like me and Meenakshi who thought why not to have a few bengali songs, people of other languages might want to see a section for exchanging links and discussions in their own language probably, after all we all love our native tongue ... and as I see just after starting this section, I am already having a few kumaoni songs and some texts in Telugu from Naresh and Naveen _________________ Request | Rules

Well i agree with you Sourav to have regional songs and videos forum. Its pity that most of the Uttranchali's who are not born or perhaps bought up in Uttranchal are not much aware of their own language and culture. I am not denying the fact that condition, time and infact lack of interests and other reasons perhaps can be the factor but i always feel very nice to listen our regional songs and gets excited to watch them performing their traditional dances. Infact i like Garba and bhangra too alot...
Its a good initiative to be in touch with her traditional culture and let it be through songs and dances. |

Well, don't know really but I will be, at least, for sure. Lived in delhi many years and had a lot of Bihari friends from the university, and love the different accents of Bihar. Opening a Bhojpuri sub forum, take charge of that.
