For those who are starting, as I have seen myself, the best way to learn the base is to keep listening ... even though you don't understand anything. I did that for 3 months, + I mixed with french native speakers, and in 3 months I was operational, starting from zero when I didn't know a single french word, not even the famous Bonjour.

I would suggest you guys to keep seeing french videos, whenever you can ... and here I'll be adding a few french videos for you to start seeing. They have nothing to do with learning the language probably, but these videos are there for you to just watching.

I'm surprised by your choices but its quite good to think that indian people can love this sort of old songs too... You have a very open minded because its so far of indian music at least....
For my self by the fact when i was very little my dad has sing this song for me : Fais comme l'oiseau de Michel Fugain, of course i love this song and the meaning of it too....

Its a very good idea Naresh, if you want to practice languages by lyrics of songs, its ok, we'll work on too.Pupose me some lyrics and we'll try how we can help you to understand it and how you can translate it....

When i started listening Jean jacque and brel too i was amazed with the words which most of it i understood due to lyrics found from google...oldies are amazing as they are clear and with less music and powerful words....i started from Khaleds aicha aicha and loved it ....Yes i try to sing these French songs...although not good with the accent ...I like singing although not very good at it but keep trying...i sometimes sing jean petite que danser ,o clair de la lune ...its funny to sing but i try to understand the words in French.

I love one more French singer who is in Jail ,i guess and do not remember his name, due to charges of killing his own wife ..He used to take drugs too. he is a young chap and famous singers amoung youngesters. He sings like Niravana and other hard rock singers...he is good too....I am not sure if he was from Toulouse.

I've found this on youtube: a guy has posted something like 400 French songs, most of them with subtitles, so you can read the lyrics while listening to the song...

Some old but still gold songs:

Jacques Brel - Quand on a que l'amour

Link

Claude François - Alexandrie Alexandra (It's time to disco lol)

Link

Francis Cabrel - Je l'aime à mourir

Link

Edith Piaf - L'hymne à l'amour

This reply might be too late.
"Coup de Boule" (French for "headbutt")
This a funny little song, which was a huge hit in youtube after the last FIFA world cup. Some might have heard it.

I also like the La Mer song which comes in Mr. Bean Holiday movie.
