Hii guys!!
I've just found this forum and I find this topic... quite interesting!!! First of all I
would love to know what's the real matter about brown/black/dark (or whatever you may call it) skin??
I'm 23 and I'm living in France from my birth, but I never had to face racism problem from white french people!!
Sorry... I forgot to mention: I'm french but BLACK (my mum is from Sénégal)!! In fact the first time I had to face it was last year in North India!! Quite strange, na?!
Nothing really serious but really funny: jab koi, jo aapse bhi kala ho, aap pe hansta ho mano usne kabhi black people na dekha ho toh kaise laga hoga?? FUNNY!! Par kya karein? India jana chod dein? voh bhi us admi ki vajah se? NEVER!
And do you know why? Because all Indians are not asame! I met really nice and unforgettable people (it wasn't just a dikhava!!)
So just do what you want to because there are good and very good log everywhere!
And two last things: please don't think my opinion is altered by the fact that I'm black!! And forget all these prejudices about British,French, dark skinned, big bottoms, big noses, etc...
So All the best![align=justify] |

| well I dont think India is so racist at all - there may be silly comments against darker or oriental people but no one in India will really attack you or hurt you for being dark skinned - like they do in Australia, UK, Germany and many other European countries. Also the police in India are now anti-blacks because of a Drug problem, there are lots of Black people in India from Africa on student visas and selling drugs locally.... but again I never heard of the police targetting black people specifically in India - most of them roam around freely now and enjoy a good life... lots of Indians actually like Black people. India has had several Presidents from the lowest caste / class - and female, muslim, sikh heads of states all the time - so where is the racism??? India is the most diverse multi-cultural country in the world... much more diverse than all of Europe. |

Well, don't push your demonstration too far... Reading what you wrote, one would believe that the caste system is totally abolished, and even never existed, and that there is never any community riot in India... By wanting to prove too much, you may reach an opposite result...
And most of the times, ordinary racism is nothing else than "silly comments against darker people", or just different people... |

LeFrenchy -
With 1.2 billion people rioting is not such a huge issue - conflict is bound to happen anywhere with such a huge population. In UK less than 10% of the population is non-white yet they make such a huge issue out of it...I dont know how the situation is in France. |

You should go into politics, there's a great career ahead of you !
Anyway if you're in a state of mind in which India is just perfection of earth, and UK or Germany are institutionally racist countries, moving to France won't be a solution, as you will surely have more or less the same grievances here... |

| Lefrenchy - thanks but I didnt really ask for your opinion on whether I should move to France or not. It's entirely my choice and by putting words in my mouth you won't get anywhere. Besides - I don't like living in one country all year long and since I can afford to - I enjoy hopping around the world... when I get fed up of France - I will hop on somewhere else... for now I just want to buy the perfect pad on a high floor in some hausmannian building with views of the tour eiffel... and live there for the next 6 months... after that who knows.....and who cares.... |

| Also instead of being concerned about how Indians are treated in France - I am more concerned now about France being backward, socialist and too bourgeois... and anti-rich foreigners. |

I'm not trying to get anywhere (except maybe to my bed at this late hour ?)... I just thought rather stupidly that you had a question when you opened this thread, but obviously you have all the answers, even about France... So all the best, and so long ! |
