I thought as the other thread will list interested students, we may need to have a thread where people who are interested to teach / help us learning French can list themselves.

* For french speakers, while registering, you will be asked for an authorization code. The code will be - Sachin

So if you think you are interested, please write a few words here.

What we can offer to the teachers (native french speakers) here?

Well, this site is a non-profit project, and hence we can't offer anything financial, but we have nice G2Gs frequently with 30 / 40 guys / gals joining together, so if you are open to knowing the Indian culture and knowing Indians in particular, this could be a nice platform for you, while doing a noble work as an ambassador to the french culture. Smile

I haven't seen some nice people have answered me, sorry to have answered you late. Well, at first i know to know about your level ? If i'm feeling people aren't serious i won't be ashamed to say, bye, lolzzz.
So for this moment i have to manage with you in english or in urdu/hindi but i also need that you'll show me every day you are learning french yourself too.
So in the beginning it will be a good idea if you'll open a post for it, for french lessons....
Every day i'll ask you for a word you'll have learn yourself and after you'll give me translation and you'll make a little sentence with it. Are you agree with this plan ?
Like that, if we are making our efforts in commun it will be great and good for all.

So i'm waiting for your replies and i'm sure like that you'll progress all together.

You really are a wonderful person, Alicia.

About me, well, I am still in India, and I will reach Paris on 26th February.
So, my level is "0". Others are in France, and are exposed to French language in their day to day life, so they will be better learners.

I am sure people are serious. In fact, I have been trying to learn a bit on my own, so that I can carry out basic transactions and conversations. I have learnt a few basic phrases. But, the problem is, that although I can ask where is xxx place, I may not understand when I hear the reply.

Secondly, I have given up on the numbers, instead decided that I will carry a small jot pad with me all the time, and request the salesperson/ shopkeeper to write down the price of something.

Thirdly, I have no knowledge of French Grammar, so constructing a sentence with a word will be difficult!!

Any help / suggestions/ ideas you can offer us will be greatly appreciated.

I think its a good idea...but also it would be nice if once a week or twice a month we can meet somewhere and speak in French so that our conversation skills would improve....We can see how many are interested and can visit at someones place to discuss on certain issues in French and have tea and coffee too. This would give a push to everyone to prepare something and work on vocabulaire too.....

This would give Alicia an idea of the level of FRENCH one have....and accordingly she can work and plan things out ....

What to do you think ?

Naresh, the problem is i'm not living in Paris, lolz, first of all and i'm not sure its necessary a good idea to pick the accent in french only by me. I mean its also a good idea if you are trying yourself to open your mind to everybody. Don't be afraid of french people, lolz are they so terrific as i feel you think they are ? LOLzzz

Well its unfortunate you are not in Paris . Further conversation always help to improve language skills faster i personally believe. So i wished to share that thought.Although i am sure everyone has options open.
I do not think if anyone would be scared of French interms of languge if you meant. Smile Yes everyone is terrific in their own way....
But its good initiative.....

Hey it is wonderful talking to you all! Me too, I am `sailing in the sme boat`, learning french. I would like to say that all the learners living in france wanting to learn french have to keep their eyes and ears open all the time> I mean the environment is french; you hear, see/ observe everything in french and so it is just to absorb bits day by day> I have been doing that and it has helped me a lot>Keep some basic phrase books handy too, which will help you to find out meanings and translations> GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!
