site is just coooooool..but one problem which bothers me is so many threads/forums.. Rolling Eyes

is there any possible way to optimised it..
i mean lesser number of forums...

Thanks Dhruv. Yes, that's an interesting point you have mentioned. Of course, we can have less number of forums, but I thought it could be better if I give a wide variety of different environments where people of different mindsets can share their views.

Like seperating people of different cities, or seperating cricket from cuisine Very Happy

Seperating / classifying also helps as then we have many different thread groups, and new threads do not always push down all older threads as we have seen in the other forum.

Anyway, if you get with some idea, more "to the point", like - I think forum x and forum y could be merged together, this could help me and other visitors as well. Following your suggestion, I will discuss this with some other people, and depending on what others are saying we will find a way that's most practical to everybody.

What do you think ? Please feel free to suggest. Smile

Well what i was thinking is that major members(that to active) of this forum are from paris, what you can do(just suggestion) is merge all other city groups in one forum naming "Other cities of france"....and than put all those city forums in that forum..

Coz to go to discussions, news,cuisine etc etc...we have to scroll page...just like in orkut we have to click "view all threads" to see the threads which are older..

I'll have to look after a good "mod" here (should be done in a few days, by next weekend, say) and then change my site's settings a bit to incorporate these changes.

We will have Paris and then, other cities. Very Happy

well if you dont have moderator than u can make active members a moderator...like naresh..
i too can become one..but am not sure about the time which i can spare on it..
but still if you need any help...dont hesitate to ask for it..

actually by "mod" I was meaning some sort of code, that I can add with the existing code of the site, which will allow me to have more than one forums in a single forum, with many links as sub forums.

That's a phpbb thing.

For the help, yeah, thanks a lot for your offer. If you want to be a moderator (take responsibility I mean) of a given group, just ask me, and that will take seconds to implement. Smile

well as i said...i dont mind moderating..but problem is i am not sure about the time which i can give it...coz right now i m not doing much..but once my studies gets going i wont be able to give time..so now its you take

Naresh is very active member (sure there would be many other) and he has good skills...so he too can be good candidate..

yeah, let's discuss this in the next face-to-face meet then, with Naresh and you (and others) ... actually it will be great if you guys take some responsibility as then I can concentrate my full time for developing the functionality of the site, while you guys will be doing the management part. And this will be a great help.

I believe I can make this a great site, so far as the functionalities are concerned if I don't need to give time for management. The other lady Parul helped me a lot earlier when I was receiving a lot of spams ... so these little gestures help ... Smile
