Dear all,
I am doing Post-doc in grenoble.
I have to go to india back. in december... But my visa will end in Dec...
If I hav to come to back to Grenoble.. Wat Ahould I do... My carte de sejour has not come and it have some problems by prefecture here.. they mispelled my name....
Shall I get the new VISA from India itself...
Please advise me...

| When I applied for my carte sejour, I had only 2 weeks left in my visa and hence I was told by my perfecture that if I had to go to india for some reason before my carte sejour is ready and after my visa expires, I can get a temporary authorisation from the perfecture to come back to france. Not sure if this done for all the cases, so please check with your perfecture if you can get something like this temp. authorisation. |

I agree with Vel's message.It happend to me, but a bit different.I was waiting for my renewal of carte de sejour and it took days to arrive.so I got an temporary carte de sejour in a paper(like the one they issue before the card) and travelled around without any problem.You could go to your prefecture and you could EXPLAIN them, certainly they would have seen cases like yours and they would always have a plan B.

Many thanks for your post on temporary authorisation from the perfecture. Do you know the procedure to apply for "temporary authorisation from the perfecture "? Do we have to apply for it when we are applying Carté de Sejour? |

Hello People,
Some HELP Please!
MY Visa expires on 25TH August and I am travelling back home.
The issue I am facing is this:
I have not yet applied for Carte Sejour (since some documentation from School is still missing); however I would like to know would it be possible to apply for Carté Sejour once I am back, let's say on the 20th of August 2010. The problem for my applying now is that I have a residence till the 5th of July and then 20th Aug onwards I have accomodation elsewhere. The time between the two I do not have a place, so any correspondance they send won't be received by me.
Any help would be really helpful.
