Free stuff on Net.
Rule No. 1- Nothing is free in life.
I never fall into the trap of Free this and Free that on net.
Having said that, I would like to say, that there is a huge community of people who believe in open source stuff (look at Linux), and many people develop tools that they just share, and do not sell.
These two AV tools I have mentioned, did not create any problem at all and are virus-free. They are good tools.
But whenever you download anything, it is always better to check the comments, the reviews and check it with your anti-virus (I use Nod-32 anti virus, not free) before running it.
The freeware sites I have mentioned are however, reliable sites. These are not warez sites! Many of the totally free softwares available here are developed by proponents of open source softwares. Some need you to pay after the trial period.
In freeware, I use spyware terminator, ad aware, tweak UI, C cleaner and WC clean, without any problems at all (since >3 years).
The other AV players (Real, M player, zoom, etc) and photo tools (photoshop pro, etc) and other scientific softwares (Matlab, mathematica, origin) that I use are not free, and I wont be able to give an opinion on the quality of the freewares available in science and maths sections of freeware sites. But I am told quite a few photoediting tools available free (I don't mean cracked) are good.
However, for disc management, I prefer to use windows tools, as they are sufficient. I have never used the various free tools available for Windows or MS office. But many good stuff are free, like beautiful screensavers and desktops (I love Magentic). Many good powerpoint backgrounds are available for free, as are good icons.
Any better opinions from more jaankaar people are welcome. I am a novice to computer world. It is not my line of work! _________________ ANJU |

There are so many video Free Video editing tool are available in the market such as
-Windows Movie Maker
-Avid Free DV
-Jumpcut
But My most favourite one is Windows Movie Maker - It is best video editing tool for Windows that's already have it installed on your computer as part of XP SP2. Microsoft Movie Maker has all the basic video editing tools plus a good collection of transitions and video effects. _________________ fashion jewelry |
